Finding Books and Media: Search@UW

Search@UW is your primary tool for searching for books and e-books. In addition to all of UW-Green Bay’s books, e-books, videos, and other resources, it has millions of resources from other UW System Libraries. You can access Search@UW on this page and on the UW-Green Bay Libraries homepage.

Search@UW also contains many (but not all) of the articles you can access through the library, and it can be useful for broad, multidisciplinary searches. However, if you are looking for articles, you can conduct more effective and focused searches using discipline-specific databases, like CINAHL. You can learn more about these databases and how to access them on the “Finding Articles” tab.

Limit Your Search

By default, Search@UW searches Everything - one search for all of the categories listed below. You can also use the drop-down menu to switch to one of these specific sets of search results:

Search@UW

  • Articles & more: articles, images, streaming audio/video, and other materials from most of the UWGB Libraries databases.
  • UWGB Books, media, & more: books, e-books, CDs, DVDs, and other physical items available at UWGB Libraries locations
  • UW Libraries Books, media & more: books and media available from all UW System Libraries. You can have physical materials sent to your local UWGB campus for free.
  • Course Reserves: items set aside by a professor for a course. Available at the corresponding UWGB campus libraries.
  • UW Digital Content: digitized materials from the UW System, including some dissertations/theses, presentations, images, audio/video recordings, and more.

NCLEX Review and Practice Tests

Learning Express Library has a wide range of educational resources to help students and adults improve the skills required for success. In their Career Center, you'll find interactive reviews and practice exams for the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN.

Get Items from Other UW Libraries

Use Search@UW to find books, media and more. Some items show "Request this item," which may mean that it is located at another library. You can request these items or visit another library to view them.

Option 1: Request an item

  1. sign in to your account all available request options. Click on the UW Request option under Get It then click Submit
  2. If the book you requested is unavailable, you will receive an email with alternative request options.
  3. Once your item arrives at your campus library, you will be notified via email to pick up the item at your library’s main circulation desk.

Option 2: Visit another library

If you find yourself near another UW Library, you are welcome to visit and check out items at that library using your UW-Green Bay ID.

You don't have to travel back to that library to return your item, just drop it in your campus library’s book drop and we'll send it back.

Note: the item will not be officially 'returned' until it is checked in at the lending library.
