Accessing Content from Off-Campus

To access many of the library's resources, including online databases which contain journals, magazines, and newspaper articles, you will need the following:

Your UW-Green Bay campus network username and password. This is the same one that you use to access campus e-mail and Canvas. You should have received a letter with this information upon acceptance into the program.

Username
Consists of the first four characters of your last name, the first name and middle name initials, and the two-digit day of the month that you were born. For example: Mary Kay Jones’s birthday is May 4th, so her username would be: jonemk04. (Note: There are occasional exceptions to this syntax.)

Initial Password
Consists of the first letter of your last name (capitalized), followed by the # sign, followed by the 9-digit Campus ID number. Example: J#123456789

Troubleshooting
For more information about your password, how to change it, and what to do if it does not work, visit the Division of Information Technology's (IT) Student Technology Account page, or call the IT Help Desk at 920-465-2309.

Registering for Home Delivery of Library Materials

Online students living OUTSIDE of Brown, Manitowoc, Marinette, and Sheboygan counties are eligible for home delivery of materials from all UW-Green Bay Libraries, as well as books from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan.

To register for home delivery:

  1. Go to the UW-Green Bay Libraries interlibrary loan (ILLiad) page.
  2. Log in with your UW-Green Bay login (same as your email).
  3. Under Tools, click on Distance Education Students.
  4. At the bottom of the page, under Distance Education Students, change the drop-down box from "None" to Distance Education.
  5. Click on Submit Information.

This will ensure that books will be delivered to your home address. You are responsible for returning library materials at your expense, by mail or an alternate method of your choice, by the due date that will be with each book.

Get Books and Media from Other Libraries

WorldCatWorldCat is a library catalog that includes millions of book and other materials from more than 70,000 libraries worldwide. You can have many of these items sent to you here at UW-Green Bay for free.

As you search, click on the Find It! button and sign in to request an item. We will e-mail you when it is delivered to UW-Green Bay for pick-up.

NEWIL Libraries (Northeast Wisconsin)
If you live in the Green Bay area, you may obtain a Courtesy Pass from Cofrin Library (Green Bay campus) to use any of the local public, academic, or special libraries that belong to NEWIL. This courtesy pass will give you a one time borrowing privilege at those institutions. To find out if the library you need participates, or to obtain a courtesy pass, please contact the Public Services desk at 920-465-2540 or circdept@uwgb.edu.
