Integrating Library Resources into Canvas

Tips

Select the database/provider you are using from the navigation menu. If you do not see an example for the database that you need to use listed here, contact the library for assistance.

Do not copy and paste the URL in your browser's web address bar unless directed to do so in the information presented on this page.

To allow off-campus users to view content, most links will require the UW-Green Bay Libraries proxy server URL as part of the link you send to students. The information for each of the databases/providers explains how to do this.

Linking to a Films on Demand Video

For Films on Demand videos:

1. Find the video.

2. Click on Share Link below the video player.

3. Navigate to the Embed/Link Tab. Copy and paste the Record URL (also sometimes labeled Segment or Title URL) or Embed Code into your Canvas course. If you choose to use the embed code, select the desired video size before copying link. This will direct students to the video from on and off-campus.

4. You can also link to a segment of the video, rather than the whole, by clicking on Segments on the right side of the video.  Choose the desired segment and follow the same steps above to retrieve the correct link/embed code.

Linking to a Kanopy Video

For Kanopy videos:

1. Find the video.

2. Click on the Share button.

3. Copy and paste the Share link URL.  This will direct students to the video from on and off-campus.  Or, If you wish to embed the video directly into your Canvas course, click on the Embed tab and copy the embed code.

Linking to an Alexander Street Press Video

For Alexander Street Press videos:

1. Find the video.

2.  Click on the Share button at the top of the player.

3. Select either the Copy Permalink button or Copy Embed Code button. Paste your option into your Canvas course and students will be able to access on and off campus.

Linking to a Docuseek Video

For Docuseek videos:

  1. Find the video.
  2. Click on Embed below the video player.

  3. Copy and paste the Permanent Link or Embed Code into your Canvas course. This will direct students to the video from on and off-campus.
