Integrating Library Resources into Canvas

Tips

Select the database/provider you are using from the navigation menu. If you do not see an example for the database that you need to use listed here, contact the library for assistance.

Do not copy and paste the URL in your browser's web address bar unless directed to do so in the information presented on this page.

To allow off-campus users to view content, most links will require the UW-Green Bay Libraries proxy server URL as part of the link you send to students. The information for each of the databases/providers explains how to do this.

Linking to a Films on Demand Video

  1. Find the video you want to include.

  2. Select Share under the video player.

  3. Select Embed/Link.

  4. Click to copy the Record URL and paste it into your Canvas course.

    We strongly recommend that you do not use the Embed Code as it can cause occasional access problems. If you choose to use it, please also provide the Record URL to your students.

Linking to a Kanopy Video

For Kanopy videos:

  1. Find the video.
  2. Click on the Share button.
    Click on the Share button
  3. Copy and paste the Share link URL. This will direct students to the video from on and off-campus. Or, If you wish to embed the video directly into your Canvas course, click on the Embed tab and copy the embed code. Because of occasional access issues with the embed code, we strongly recommend using the Share link URL. If you choose to use the embed code, please also provide the Share link URL.

Linking to an Alexander Street Press Video

For Alexander Street Press videos:

1. Find the video.

2.  Click on the Share button at the top of the player.

3. Select either the Copy Permalink button or Copy Embed Code button. Because of occasional access issues with the embed code, we strongly recommend using the Copy Permalink option. If you choose to use the embed code, please also provide the Permalink. Paste your option into your Canvas course and students will be able to access on and off campus.

Linking to a Docuseek Video

We are currently having technical difficulties with the Embed link in Docuseek.

Instructors, please use the gray Integration Request button at https://www.uwgb.edu/canvas to add a Docuseek video to your Canvas course.

For Docuseek videos:

  1. Find the video.
  2. Click on Embed below the video player.

  3. Copy and paste the Permanent Link or Embed Code into your Canvas course. This will direct students to the video from on and off-campus.
