Circulation is a customer service intensive area, helping staff our main public desk. Job duties include providing quality customer service for all library customers, opening and closing the Library, checking materials in and out, shelving items, maintaining the shelves, answering business phones, computer and copier assistance, and light office work such as filing and alphabetizing. Hours are scheduled 7:45 AM - 10 PM, Monday-Thursday; 7:45 AM - 5 PM, Friday; 11:45 AM - 4 PM, Saturday; and 11:45 AM - 9 PM, Sunday.
Collection Management Student Assistants help with a variety of tasks within the Collection Management department. Routine tasks include receiving and processing library materials (books, serials, etc.), inputting data, working with invoices, compiling monthly reports, working with library statistics, repairing damaged materials, maintaining stacks and serials (including shelving and weeding), basic searching and editing of library records, assisting with management of the Federal Depository, and checking of online materials. The student assistant will also be expected to help with related Collection Management projects as needed. Hours are scheduled 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday-Friday.
Resource Sharing Assistants process the “borrowing and lending” of materials between UW-Green Bay and other libraries. Job duties include locating materials, checking items in and out, and packaging and shipping materials. Hours are scheduled 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday-Friday.
Archives Assistants help campus and community patrons with historical research, class projects, and family history. The Archives houses historical documents pertaining to Northeastern Wisconsin and borrows/loans materials throughout a statewide network. Job duties include providing help to both on-site and off-site researchers, retrieving and shelving materials, providing copier and computer assistance, packing/unpacking of materials, working on specialized projects with original records (e.g., indexing, sorting, preservation tasks), some routine clerical work, and outreach activities. Hours are scheduled between 9 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
