Who can use this service?
Current UW-Green Bay students, staff, faculty, and emeritus faculty.
Does it cost anything?
Requesting is free for UW-Green Bay students, staff, faculty, and emeritus faculty.
What can I request?
Physical items, such as books, movies, and music that circulate. Electronic and non-circulating items, such as eBooks, streaming videos, journals, and course reserves are unable to be requested.
How many requests/items can I have?
There are no limits to the number of requests or items you can check out. However, if numerous quantities of requests are received at the same time, it may slow down processing time.
How can I check on the status of my request?
Log into My Library Account. You will see if the request is sent to the lending partner, shipped physically, or cancelled. If you receive an email notifying you of a cancellation and still want the item, resubmit the request using the ILLiad link provided in the email to place an ILL request for the item, which will look for the item outside of the UW System.
How long does it take for an item to arrive?
Generally items arrive within 2-4 business days.
How will I know when my items arrive?
An email will be sent to your campus email account.
How long do I have to pick up my items?
These items should be picked up within 10 days, otherwise they will be sent back to the lending library. Your notification email will have the exact date the hold will expire.
Where do I pick up my items?
At your local library's main circulation desk.
How do I check out items?
To check out UW items, bring a photo ID, such as your UW-Green Bay ID or driver's license, to your local library's main circulation desk.
Where do I return my items?
You can return items directly to your local library's circulation desk or book drops.
How long can I have the items?
Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students
- Most books: semester loan
- CDs/DVDs: 14 days
Undergraduate Students
- Most books: 28 days
- CDs/DVDs: 14 days
Can I renew these items?
Yes, as long as the item isn't requested or recalled. Typically CDs/DVDs can be renewed once for everyone, and books can be renewed twice for undergraduate students and three times for faculty, staff, and graduate students. To renew your items, log into My Library Account.
What if the items are lost or damaged?
Most lost or damaged items will be billed at the standard UW System replacement cost of $100. Depending on the specific item, the replacement cost could vary and additional processing fees might apply. Any charges will be added onto your library account. For students, the charges will transfer to your SIS account.
