Visiting Other Libraries Near You

Other UW Libraries

You can visit any UW campus library and check out materials from there with your UWGB ID card. When you are finished, you can return materials back to their home library or at UWGB and we will send them back for you. For more information, check the Find Books and Media page.

Other NEWIL Libraries (Northeast Wisconsin)

If you live in the Green Bay area, you may obtain a Courtesy Pass from the Cofrin Library (Green Bay Campus) Public Services Department to use any of the local public, academic, or special libraries that belong to the Northeast Wisconsin Intertype Libraries Consortium (NEWIL). This courtesy pass will give you a one time borrowing privilege at those institutions. To find out if the library you need participates, or to obtain a courtesy pass, please contact the Research Desk at 920-465-2303 or refdesk@uwgb.edu.

Your Local Public Library

If you are looking for a good place to study, your local public library is often a good alternative. However, they may not always have access to the specialized scholarly resources that you need. Check out the Find Books and Media and Find Articles pages for these types of resources.

Renewing Your Library Materials Online

If you wish to renew the items you have checked out, you can renew them online, in person at your campus library, or by phone: 920-465-2540. Renewing items online is the quickest method. See below for online renewal instructions for UW Library items and interlibrary loans (ILLiad).

Items from UW-Green Bay Libraries & Other UW Libraries

  1. Go to My Search@UW Account.
  2. Click on UWGB Students & Staff.
  3. Log in with your username and password.
  4. Click on Loans.
  5. Click on Renew next to the title you wish to renew, or click on Renew All.
  6. A new due date will appear.

Be sure to note the new due date. Most 28 day or semester loan check-outs can be renewed twice, but not all items can be renewed. If a new due date does not appear, contact the library.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) Items from Other Libraries

Renewals can be requested for items provided the book band is not marked “No Renewals” and the renewal is requested within a week of the due date. Renewals are always conditional and if the lending library does not grant the renewal, the item will be due back immediately.

  1. Log in to your Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) account.
  2. Click the View/Renew Checked Out Items button.
  3. Click on the transaction number of the item you wish to renew.
  4. Select Request Renewal.
  5. The new due date automatically displayed is a provisional due date and MAY change depending on the response we receive from the loaning library.
  6. Notification of the correct new due date will be e-mailed to your campus account.
