About this guide

A new version of Search@UW launched on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Most of the improvements were behind-the-scenes, so you may not notice much of a difference.

Although we worked to minimize the impact of the upgrade, any saved searches you had in Search@UW did not transfer to the new version, and the URLs for Search@UW records will change. This guide will show you how to update your account and links. The deprecated version of Search@UW will remain accessible through the end of summer 2021.

Recreating your saved searches

If you had any saved searches in Search@UW prior to May 20, 2021, you will not see them in the new version of Search@UW. To view your previously saved searches:

  1. Use the "Deprecated Search@UW" link above and sign in to your Search@UW account.

  2. Select the pushpin next to your name to go to your favorites.

  3. Then, select Saved Searches.

  4. If you want to keep any of your searches, review their search terms, scope, and active filters, and document them in a way that works well for you (e.g., copying and pasting the text into an email, printing the page, or saving a screenshot).

  5. For any searches that you want to keep, recreate them in the upgraded Search@UW, which you can access on the library homepage. Sign in to your account, repeat the search and apply filters, then then select Save query.
