What is the OER Program?

OER logoThe UW-Green Bay Libraries and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning are collaborating with instructional staff who apply for funding to adopt, modify, or create OER for UW-Green Bay courses. This program will allow us to shape the OER landscape for UW-Green Bay while addressing the strategic priorities of improving student success and retention, promoting equity and inclusion, embracing digital transformation, and taking a small step towards improved sustainability practices.

Through Fall 2024, 41 instructors who have participated in this program have saved 3,111 students $360,748.

OER Program participants are paired with a support team who can help them:

  • find instructional materials that are freely available, including open access scholarly research
  • discuss course revisions to support best-pedagogical practices
  • explore Creative Commons licensing options for remixed or newly created OER content

To view OER materials that have been created at UWGB, visit the OER Collection in the Institutional Repository!
