EndNote is a very useful product for managing and organizing your references. Like any citation program, however, there are some limitations, particularly when dealing with a complex style like APA (7th ed.). When creating or importing a journal article reference EndNote, check that these aspects are accurate.
Article Title Capitalization
Capitalize the first word of the title, the first word of the subtitle, and any proper nouns. All other words should be lowercase.
Incorrect: Essential Oils and Their Constituents as Anticancer Agents: A Mechanistic View.
Correct: Essential oils and their constituents as anticancer agents: A mechanistic view.
Journal Title Capitalization and Abbreviation
Use the full name of the journal and capitalize most words (e.g., those with four or more letters, proper nouns, and the first words of the title and subtitle). PubMed abbreviates the titles of journals, but these abbreviations should not be used in APA references.
Incorrect capitalization: Clinical Journal Of Oncology Nursing
Correct capitalization: Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing
