Get Stuff from Other Libraries: UW System Borrowing and Interlibrary Loan

How to place an ILL request

ILL requests can be placed two different ways:

  1. Place requests directly from UW-Green Bay Libraries databases
  2. Place requests directly in ILLiad

All require that you log into your ILLiad account with your campus username and password.

What can I get through ILL?

Almost Anything:

  • Articles
  • Books
  • Book chapters
  • Conference proceeding papers
  • Dissertations
  • Microfilm, microfiche, etc.
  • Movies (DVDs)
  • Music (CDs)
  • Music scores

Online Students: Registering for Home Delivery of Library Materials

Registering for Home Delivery of Library Materials

Online students living OUTSIDE of Brown, Manitowoc, Marinette, and Sheboygan counties are eligible for home delivery of materials from all UW-Green Bay Libraries, as well as books from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan.

To register for home delivery:

  1. Go to the UW-Green Bay Libraries interlibrary loan (ILLiad) page.
  2. Log in with your UW-Green Bay login (same as your email).
  3. Under Tools, click on Distance Education Students.
  4. At the bottom of the page, under Distance Education Students, change the drop-down box from "None" to Distance Education.
  5. Click on Submit Information.

This will ensure that books will be delivered to your home address. You are responsible for returning library materials at your expense, by mail or an alternate method of your choice, by the due date that will be with each book.

Requesting items found in WorldCat

WorldCat is a library catalog that includes millions of book and other materials from more than 70,000 libraries worldwide. You can have many of these items sent to you here at UW-Green Bay for free.

If you find an item in WorldCat that you would like to request, log into your ILLiad account and click on New Request. Fill in the information about the item as it is listed in WorldCat and submit the form. We will e-mail you when it is delivered to UW-Green Bay for pick-up.

Please note: if an item is available in the UW System, it can be sent to you much faster than through ILLiad. Please search for your item in Search@UW before placing a request in ILLiad. If you need help, Ask a Librarian.
