An organization "to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world." Releases about 250 reports each year.
The World Bank
An international financial institution that provides loans and grants to low-income and developing countries. Also collect data and conduct research, which is published on their website.
European Union
Find publications, statistics, data and more on European Union member countries.
Organization of American States
An organization of 35 member countries in the Americas, focusing on democracy, human rights, security, and development.

About our Collection

We do not actively collect documents published by the governments of individual countries, although you will find some Canadian and British documents in our main book collection. We DO collect key publications of Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) such as the United Nations, World Bank, etc. These materials are all cataloged and can be searched in Search@UW.

The Demographic Yearbook disseminates statistics on population size and composition, births, deaths, marriage and divorce, as well as respective rates, on an annual basis. The Demographic Yearbook census datasets cover a wide range of additional topics including economic activity, educational attainment, household characteristics, housing characteristics, ethnicity, language, foreign-born and foreign population.
